DESCRIPTION
Pair of patinated solid brass candlesticks in the Arts & Crafts Style. The candlesticks are reminescent of designs by Robert R. Jarvie, a revered early 20th century Arts & Crafts designer. Jarvie's original early 20th century designs are highly coveted by Arts & Crafts design collectors.
The pair offered are reproductions which were sold in the gift shop of the Metropolitan Museum Of Art in New York city. The candlesticks are high quality, hand crafted pieces manufactured by Virginia MetalCrafters which closed its doors in 2006, these candlesticks are probably from the 1970's - 1980's and are no longer manufactured. Each candlestick consists of two pieces, the candlestick and a bobeche.
The candlesticks stand 13 1/2 inches tall, the base 5 3/4 inches in diameter. The pair is marked "A Metopolitan Museum Of Art Reproduction" with the Virginia MetalCrafters insignia on the bottom.
CONDITION
The pair of candlesticks are in good vintage condition. There are no dents or bends. The patinated finish has worn spots, scratches and discolorations, which does not deter their presentation. The candlesticks show very well.
