DESCRIPTION
Stylish Lucite or Acrylic vintage picture frame from the 1960's to 1970's. The frame was manufactured by Astrolite Products for the Ritts Company L.A.. The Ritts Company was established in Southern California by Herbert Ritts Senior and his wife, interior designer Shirley Ritts, who were the parents of the famous fashion photographer Herb Ritts. The Ritts Company started in the 1940s with rattan and tropical-themed casual furniture on Beverly Boulevard and later West Hollywood, the company evolved alongside modern design trends. The material "Astrolite" was the brand's proprietary name for items crafted from thick, high-clarity cast acrylic or Lucite. The frame still has the tag on the back support. The frame stands approximately 10 3/4 inches tall, 8 7/8 inches wide and 4 1/4 inches deep. The frame is 10 7/8 inches tall and 8 7/8 inches wide. The lucite is 1/2 an inch in thickness, the frame weighs 4 pounds 8 ounces.
CONDITION
The frame is in good vintage condition. There are a few scratches and bruises throughout the frame, but none which would affect it overall condition. There is a small chip on one edge. The frame shows very well.
