DESCRIPTION
Vintage French Art Deco lamp manufactured by Louis Lourioux in France around 1925. Camille Louis Lourioux, best known as Louis Lourioux (1874-!930), was born in 1874 in the Berry region. At the age of 25, he shared with his father the management of the Legros, Buchon & Lourioux porcelain factory in Foëcy and was introduced in 1904 to the Chambre Syndicale de la Céramique et de la Verrerie. Unfortunately, Lourioux had a penchant for beautiful women and luxury cars, Lourioux died too young at the wheel of his Delehaye cabriolet, unfortunately leaving great ambitions behind. The lamp has been cleaned and has its original electrical hardware, however, the plug, cord, switch and insulation has been replace and are new. The patinated harp, socket casing and finial are original which adds to the lamps presence. The lampshade is new and is included with the lamp. The lamp uses a smaller lightbulb, the lightbulb is included for reference. The lamp stands 19.75 inches tall and is 4 inches in diameter. The lamp is marked on the bottom, note photograph.
CONDITION
The plug, twisted cord, socket and socket insulator has been replaced. Wear consistent with age and use. The lamp is in good vintage condition, no chips, cracks or discolorations on the ceramic base. The metal hardware has been cleaned, but the patina has been left as found.
SHIPPING
The lamp will be carefully packed using bubble wrap, styrofoam peanuts and a rigid cardboard box. The carrier will be Federal Express Ground for businesses or Federal Express Home Delivery, the package will be insured for its sold price and the package will need a direct signature upon delivery.
