DESCRIPTION
Vintage lacquered brass swivel-arm floor lamp designed by Stewart Ross James for Hansen Lamps based in New York city, James started working for Hansen in 1957. Hansen Lamps was owned by George W. Hansen who invented the iconic swing-armed, wall-mounted lamp in the 1940's. The floor lamp was manufactured in Spain by Meta Arte probably in the 1980's. Hansen Lamps have been interior design industry standards since they were introduced. Hansen Lamps are seen in vintage interior magazines to todays interiors.
The floor lamp stands 52 inches tall, the base is 9 1/2 inches in diameter. the arm extends 6 inches from the pole and swings out to 16 inches from the pole.
The lamp is marked on the bottom with the company name and manufacturer.
CONDITION
The floor lamp is in good vintage condition, original light honey colored lacquer. There are scratches through out and some dark spots from brass oxidation, especially on the bottom half of the support column.
The lamp has a new socket, socket insulator, wiring (11 feet) and plug.
