Paul McCobb Mirror
Paul McCobb Mirror
DESCRIPTION
A wall hung mirror / shelf designed by Paul McCobb for Bryce Originals in 1953. Paul McCobbs designs for Bryce Originals are quite hard to find, this wall hung mirror / shelf design is one of the rarer designs for Bryce Originals. The piece is composed of a black painted metal frame with a pivoting mirror and a metal shelf with a mirrored glass insert. Some of the pieces for Bryce Originals were displayed in an ad in JET magazine in 1953, this wall hung mirror is not in the ad, but other mirrors similar to this one are in the ad, apparently the shelf inserts were made of black or white vitrolite glass. The vitrolite glass shelf insert is missing on this piece and has been replaced with mirrored glass at an unknown time or place or, possibly, could be original ? The piece is approximately 25 1/4 inches tall, 15 1/2 inches wide and the shelf protrudes out 8 1/2 inches from the wall. The piece is unsigned.
CONDITION
The wall mounted mirror / shelf is in very good vintage condition, there is some paint loss throughout, but the finish is in very good condition. Originally the shelf probably had a vitrolite glass insert, the insert on this example is made of mirrored glass and is probably a replacement. There are some spots on the mirror.
SHIPPING
The mirror will be shipped via FEDERAL EXPRESS in the US and USPS outside the US, the box will be packed well with bubble wrap, styrofoam peanuts and shipped in a sturdy cardboard box, fully insured and the package will have to be signed upon delivery.
