DESCRIPTION

In 1985, the Paris Art Center published the book “Goldberg: Dans La Ville / On the City.” This book was authored by Michel Ragon and accompanied a comprehensive retrospective of the work of Bertrand Goldberg, both produced under Ante Glibota, the director of the Paris Art Center. “Goldberg: Dans La Ville / On the City” has long been out of print. The book provides a complete history on the work of Bertrand Goldberg. It includes an explanatory essay by Michel Ragon, followed by 160 pages of photographs and drawings. The book includes two essays by Goldberg, and ends with a biography and bibliography. Projects such as Marina City, Prentice Women's Hospital, River City, and many others from across the country, both built and unbuilt, are illustrated with many black & white photographs, architectural renderings, and models. Some of the credited photographers include Hedrich Blessing, Gil Amiaga, Orlando R. Cabanban, Russ Carmack, Chicago Architectural Photographing Company, Larry Gordon, J. Alex Langley, Nathaniel Lieberman, Paul Markow, McShane-Fleming Studios, Rodney McCay Morgan, Rob Savage, David Urschel, Robert Ward, and Thomas Yanul. The book measures approximately 12 1/4 inches long x 12 1/4 inches wide x 1 inch thick. The book is written in English and French.

CONDITION

The vintage book is in very good condition, still has it's original dust cover with a scratch / small hole near the left center front and two inch scratch on the middle back. Some slight sole spots along the edges. The pages are in very good condition, very little if any discolorations, no tears or creases. Nice, clean copy.

The book will be carefully packed using bubble wrap, styrofoam peanuts and a rigid cardboard box (16" x 16" x 4"). The carrier will be Federal Express Ground for businesses or Federal Express Home Delivery, the piece will always be insured for the winning sales amount, a Federal Express tracking number will be emailed to the buyer on the day of shipment, which is usually within two business days after purchase, and the package will have to be signed for upon arrival if the value is over $100.00.
