DESCRIPTION

A vintage box with a brass hinged lid. The box was designed by Piero Fornasetti in the 1950's / 1960's. The box is composed of what appears to be a mahogany dovetailed wooden box, brass side hinges and with what looks to be a wood top with laminated metal or paper on the top and bottom. There is a design on the top and bottom of the lid. I am not sure what the box was used for, but it could have used to house two decks of playing cards or a cigarette box or trinket box. The box has two stickers on the bottom, one is a "Palazzo" sticker which I cannot find any research and a Fornasetti sticker. The box is approximately 6 3/4 inches long, 4 inches wide and 1 1/4 inches tall.

CONDITION

The box is in very good vintage condition. The box has been cleaned, the wood oiled and the brass cleaned. The wood is in very good vintage condition, some minor scratching throughout. The lid has some minor scratching throughtout, some paint loss around the edges of the lid. That being said, the box is very beautiful and shows quite well.

SHIPPING

The box will be shipped via FEDERAL EXPRESS in the US and USPS outside the US, the box will be packed well with bubble wrap, styrofoam peanuts and shipped in a sturdy cardboard box, fully insured and the package will have to be signed upon delivery.
