Rude Osolnik Compote
Rude Osolnik Compote
DESCRIPTION
A vintage sculpture of a compote with fruit. The piece was hand made by Rude Osolnik, probably in the 1960's. The sculpture consists of the compote, what appears to be a pear and three fruit attached to a branch. Compotes are rare among Osolnik's work, I have never seen the fruit before. I am not 100% positive the fruit was made by Osolnik, but the woods and color look similar to the compote and the proportions are about right, so I am thinking the fruit is by Osolnik as well. Incredible original condition, even with the original felt pad under neath. The compote is signed on the bottom: "Osolnik Originals". The sculpture is approximately 5 1/2 inches tall and 6 5/8 inches at it's widest. The pear is 4 inches long, the other fruit 1 inch in diameter.
CONDITION
The compote and fruit are in excellent vintage condition, no cracks, chips, warps, bends or discolorations. The only thing I can find is one of the fruit appears to have come unattached to the branch. The compote and fruit are in "as found" condition, just lightly dusted.
SHIPPING
The compote will be shipped via FEDERAL EXPRESS in the US and USPS outside the US, the box will be packed well with bubble wrap, styrofoam peanuts and shipped in a sturdy cardboard box, fully insured and the package will have to be signed upon delivery.
