DESCRIPTION

A set of seven porcelain coasters designed by Piero Fornasetti. The design is named "sezioni di frutta" or sliced fruit. The coasters are white porcelain with multi color depictions of sliced fruit. The coasters were manufactured and sold primarily during the 1950's - 1960's. The coasters are 4 inches in diameter and 1/2 inches tall. All coasters are fully marked on the back and the original box is included.

BIOGRAPHY OF DESIGNER

Piero Fornasetti (1913-1988) was an Italian artist and designer known for his prolific and eclectic body of work, spanning painting, sculpture, interior decoration, and printing. He is celebrated for his unique blend of classicism, surrealism, and metaphysical art, often infused with playful and humorous elements.

CONDITION

The coasters are in good vintage condition, it appears they were lightly or never used. More wear on the fig, mostly the black paint. There is some slight scratching on the painted surfaces, the porcelain has some factory imperfections on the bottom.

SHIPPING

The coasters will be carefully packed using bubble wrap, styrofoam peanuts and a rigid cardboard box. The carrier will be Federal Express Ground for businesses or Federal Express Home Delivery, the piece will be insured for the sales price, a Federal Express tracking number will be emailed to the buyer on the day of shipment, which is usually within two business days after purchase, and the package will have to be signed for upon arrival.
